A terminally ill dog got to visit the Staten Island Yankees on Tuesday, checking off an item on a bucket list that his owner created for the St. Bernard.

"Odin is the one that when it's my day off, he wants to go somewhere. So that's when I decided to make things for him and make him happy," the dog's owner, Bobbie Jo Ledford, said near home plate. "This is the number one thing that we wanted to do, is bring him to the Yankees."

The dog named Odin joined his owner on the field in St. George to kick off Tuesday night's game.

After the dog was diagnosed with bone cancer, Ledford had created a bucket list of things to do during Odin's final few months, including meeting the Yankees.

Although major league teams usually do not allow dogs to come to their ballparks, the minor league baseball team stepped up with an invitation to Staten Island.

A Facebook group about Odin's bucket list has garnered more than 5,000 followers so far.
