Some lawmakers are working to educate the care givers of special need patients.

State Senator Andrew Lanza and the JCC of Staten Island hosted their annual resource fair on Friday. It gives people the chance to learn about available services for special needs patients.  The day featured various discussions and presentations - including, one on a new initiative offering tax free savings accounts for investors to put away money for that rainy day - without losing disability benefits.

Jessica Walter from the JCC of Staten Island says "providers are not always aware of the different services that are available in the community, so if we are able to work together to support the families they are able to better recieve services they need and want."

This was the eighth year the fair has been held.
