A Staten Island doctor entrusted children with scissors to give him a haircut for a good cause.

His unlikely hairdressers are his pediatric patients.

For National Doctors Day,  Doctor Qusai Hammouri of Staten Island University Hospital had them cut his hair to donate to Locks of Love.

The nonprofit makes wigs for children with medical conditions that can cause hair loss.

Doctor Hammouri saidit took him a few years to grow his hair past ten inches in order to donate. It's his second time donating and he plans on making it a tradition.

"I've had a number of family members who've had cancer and you know I'm a doctor, I try to help kids. I'm not in cancer, but this is my way of supporting kids I can't help directly," said Hammouri
