Some Staten Island business owners got a chance to show off their products to their own neighbors on Sunday.

More than 20 vendors took part in the Artists and Makers Market at Scout Hall in New Dorp.

The event featured various artists and photographers, but also highlighted the work of local jewelry vendors, event planners, and businesses that sell homemade items.

Organizers said the market started as a way that residents could support local businesses without having to leave the borough.

"There's a bunch of here that got tired of trekking to Brooklyn or Manhattan and it's great tool for the community for all of us to get together," said Tasha Vila Rabener, Creator of the Staten Island Artists and Makers Market.

The next Artists and Makers Market event will be on Sunday, April 8th.
