The 54th Annual St. Patrick's Parade will be marching through West Brighton on Sunday with increased police detail.

Officials at the NYPD says it will be stepping up counter-terrorism and critical response teams to protect paradegoers.

Along with floats, visitors may also spot officers with long-guns, special weapons, and bomb-sniffing dogs.

There will also be mobile road blockades along Forest Avenue.

Organizers expect thousands of spectators, and the NYPD isn't taking any chances.

Police will also be enforcing open container laws and cracking down on any unruly revelers.

Part of drinking responsbily is not getting behind the wheel.
