Affordable housing for senior citizens just got a major upgrade on Staten Island.

Seniors can now apply to live at the new $20 million housing complex opening in Stapleton.

For around $750 a month, residents 62 and over can rent studio style or 1 bedroom apartments.   With the current push to bring business back to the Bay Street area, developers hope the building will be a new place for seniors citizens to reap the benefits.

"We liked this neighborhood as an emerging walkable neighborhood with relatively good transportation, especially for Staten Island," said Daniel Moritz of Arker Companies.

The six-story building offers views of Manhattan and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It is also partially run on solar polar.
