It was lights, camera, action for dozens of filmmakers here in the borough and beyond this past weekend.

Richmond City Media hosted its second annual Staten Island Filmmakers Showcase Sunday at Edgewater Hall.

Some of the flicks will soon be featured on the group's website.

Nearly 80 submissions were sent in this year, with genres ranging from comedies to documentaries.

Organizers say they hope to shine the spotlight on lesser-known talent.

"We like to highlight and push forward a lot of filmmakers from the Staten Island community and the tri-state area in general - the ones that are overlooked. A lot of indie filmmakers, a lot of student filmmakers are overlooked so we like to push that," said Melissa Pellicano of Richmond City Media.
