Staten Island artists  are showcasing their work for the community.

The Art Lab at Snug Harbor held their 14th Annual Open Show.

An open call to the community allowed artists of all kinds to submit two pieces to the show.

Currently, more than 140 pieces are on display in the gallery.

Some say this event creates a community among local artists.

"I get to see work, particularly new work, new styles, new techniques that I didn't even know they were doing," said artist Fritz Steven Weiss.

"There is much difference in it being displayed in a proper way as well, other than just showing somebody when it is on you easel, but actually showing it on a nice wall." said Art Lab's executive Lynnanne Daily executive director.

The gallery will be on display at the Art Lab at Snug Harbor until February 19.
