Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez held a ceremonial swearing-in ceremony in the Bronx on Saturday.

Ocasio-Cortez had already officially taken the oath of office in Washington.

The swearing in ceremony was held at the Renaissance School for Musical Theater and Technology Saturday, where Ocasio-Cortez  also delivered her inagural address.

Representing a district that encompasses parts of the Bronx and Queens, the 29-year-old made history in Novermber as the youngest woman to ever be elected to Congress.

Though she's only been on the job for a few weeks, Ocasio-Cortez has already made a mark, serving as a key voice of opposition to the now dead deal to bring Amazon's new headquarters to Queens.

"We do not have to settle for scraps in the greatest city in the world. We do not. We deserve more. We can ask for more. And if people don't want to negotiate, that's their problem and not ours," she said.

Ocasio-Cortez has also become a target of the right for her progressive views and willingness to speak her mind.
