The Astoria Performing Arts Center is debuting six new musical shorts titled "The Insiders".

Artistic producer Teresa Lotz, came up with the idea to create musicals focused on the COVID-19 pandemic.  Actors, directors, and writers held rehearsals over zoom and filmed the pieces in their homes.  Those involved in the production say they hope the shorts bring some joy to its viewers.

"Each story is really touching on something about the crisis that I hope will give people the opportunity to think about their situation a little different. Perhaps provide some sort of hope, some sort of respite maybe," said Artistic Director Dev Bandarin.

The first film will be streamed on the center's website on Friday May 22nd. The viewing is free of charge, but they do ask for a $10 donation to benefit the Astoria Performing Arts Center and the Indie Theater Fund
