Every Saturday, members of Tree LC meet in Jackson Heights to maintain curbside foliage. It’s a citywide effort by the Parks Department.

During the clean-up, they focus on planting flowers and picking up litter that's collected in the tree beds. Volunteers say it’s important that locals take the time to maintain their neighborhood.

“You really get to see what happens if you take a little take care of these little bits of nature that we have, they really come alive,” said Len Maniace, Jackson Heights Community Leader for Tree LC.
