QUEENS, N.Y. - Police say two people are in custody in connection with a string of armed robberies in Queens Monday, including one that left a drug store employee in critical condition.
Police say one of the robbers hit all four locations in just a few hours, starting with a Duane Reade on Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside early Monday morning.
During that robbery, a 49-year-old worker was shot in the head.
Less than a hour later, police say one gunman robbed a 7-Eleven in Long Island City of about $300 cash.
The gunman is also suspected of robbing two Rite Aid stores - one in Astoria and one in Jamaica.
No one else was hurt in those incidents.
