Some New Yorkers in Brooklyn are doing their part to make sure everyone can enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

The not-for-profit East Flatbush Village, Inc gave away 300 turkeys Sunday to people in the area who cannot afford one on their own. The group has events

throughout the year to help New Yorkers in need. During the holiday season, the organization's work becomes even more important.

"Thanksgiving is approaching, want to make sure people have a great holiday, and we always try to create great memories for the youth and families and this is one of the ways that we do it as well through these community events, " said East Flatbush Village Inc. Executive Director, Monique Waterman.
