An Elmhurst man was reunited Monday night with his missing twin brother, who has autism, thanks to a NY1 viewer.

"I have been looking from here to Northern Boulevard, circling every single street, screaming his name," David Gonzalez said in the neighborhood on Friday, as he called for help.

Gonzalez had been searching for his brother, 32-year-old Peter, who is nonverbal and doesn't have a phone, for at least a week after he went towards a park he often visits.

Gonzalez told NY1 that Peter was found Monday night on Long Island after the viewer recognized him from our story and called police.

The family said Peter was unharmed but a bit disoriented from having gone so many days without much, if any, food.

He spent Monday night at a local hospital, but doctors expect him to soon make a full recovery.
