The city fire department is trying to determine what caused a two-alarm fire to break out inside a Queens home Saturday night.

"I thought someone was barbequing, and so I really didn't pay attention. And I kept smelling it," said a neighbor. "And then when I looked outside, I thought I saw smoke coming from the roof. I thought it was a chimney or something. And I kept smelling it and it kept getting worse and worse."

It happened around 6:33 p.m. on 147th St. and Brookdale Drive in Rosedale.

The fast-moving flames quickly grew into a two-alarm blaze, engulfing the second-story attic of the home.

The fire was brought under control within an hour.

Four people were treated at the scene, but none of them were hurt seriously, and they were not hospitalized.
