Some special artists show off their artistic accomplishments to their friends and family in Flushing.

Clients with developmental disabilities presented their artwork at the Chinese-American Planning Council Queens on Saturday.

The council provides services and resources to the Chinese-American community.

At the afternoon celebration they got to dance for and with their loved ones and see their water paintings on display.

"The art not only helps them express themselves particularly because some do not have the ability to speak so it's an opportunity for them to express themselves," said Michell Liu - Director of CPC Queens Community Services.

"The other is that it helps them build their self-esteem. It's truly amazing. some people look at the art and are in disbelief that the individuals created the art themselves," she added.
