Calling all hopeful pet parents; Riis Park will host its first-ever “Adoptapalooza” this weekend.

Rockapup owner Lisa Long says she started Adoptapalooza because she used to have smaller adoption events but it crowded the street outside her store.

Saturday's event will have cats and dogs that are up for adoption from nearly a dozen shelters.

“We're hoping that all the animals find their forever homes, which would be fantastic,” Long said. “Again, it's a win-win for everybody. People get to bring a new member of their family in.”

Adopted animals can also get free microchips at Saturday's event.
