The curtain closes on a community theatre in Long Island City, but the owners are not taking their final bow just yet.

The owners of the Chain Theatre say their venue will be torn down to make room for luxury condos.

They say after 15 productions , the landlord is cutting their lease short in February to sell the property.

They are now trying to find another home for theater hopefully not too far away.

"I'd really like to stay in Queens, I think we developed something here, and there are so many people in the area who were dying for something like this, and eventually we turned them into a kind of family," says Artisti Director Kirk Gostkowski.

The not-for-profit theatre will continue performances until February. To make a contribution to support the theatre, visit www.Variationstheatregroup.com   click "Save the Chain."
