A cultural organization gave residents an inside look at the customs and practices of a neighborhood.

The Indo-Caribbean Alliance led a walking tour of Richmond Hill ,home to the largest Indo-Caribbean community in the US, Thursday.

The group made stops at the Queens Library, local restaurants and houses of worship in the neighborhood, also known as Little Guyana.

Those NY1 spoke with say the purpose of the tour is to expose residents to Richmond Hill's culture and garner outside support.

"I want people, after leaving here today, to be really full, but I also want them to leave with a really great impression of this community. I want them to learn about this community, and I'm convinced that at the end, they'll be impressed." said Richard David with the Indo-Caribbean Alliance.

Organizers are hoping the tour will kickstart fundraising for a new non-denominational community center. For more information on how to donate, visit indocaribbean.org.
