NEW YORK — New Yorkers who take the R train overnight and on weekends between Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn will now have to find an alternate mode of transportation.

Starting at midnight Tuesday and for the next two months, 17 stops will be impacted as crews work on track repairs.

The service disruption is expected to have a big impact on riders in Bay Ridge because there is no alternative subway route.

The MTA says it will offer shuttle buses during hours when when service is interrupted.
