NEW YORK — Police have arrested a man after they say he waved a baton at a mother and child on a Manhattan subway.

It happened around 2 p.m. on a number 4 train near 86th Street and Lexington Avenue on the Upper East Side.

Police say the woman and her son were on the train when the man, identified as Charles Hodge, 67, bumped into the boy.

When the woman confronted Hodge, police say he took out a baton and threatened them.

He was arrested at the 86th Street station, and charged with endangering a child along with criminal possession of a weapon.
