A Brooklyn knitter helps some local students stand up to bullying.

Louis Boria of "Brooklyn Boy Knits" has teamed up with the anti-bullying campaign, "Hat Not Hate," to educate kids on what they should do when they see someone being bullied.

The initiative asks knitters and crocheters from around the world to make blue hats that can be donated to students across the country.

At an assembly Friday at P.S. 145 on the Upper West Side, organizers announced that each student will receive a hat if they promised to report incidents of bullying when they see them.

"So many kids now that are being picked on throughout the public school system, on the internet and we had to bring this to light; we had to show that this is not okay, this is something they had to be aware of," Boria said.

During the event, kids made pom-pom monsters out of yarn.
