NEW YORK - A section of the Port Authority bus terminal near Times Square was closed Wednesday morning as police investigated a suspicious substance that was determined to be non hazardous.

Police sources tell NY1 a person walking by the terminal sprayed a white powdery substance on the front doors from 40th to 41st streets.

As a result, the Eighth Avenue south pedestrian entrance was shut down.

Bus traffic into and out of the bus terminal was unaffected.
