A smoke condition caused panic inside a Manhattan subway station Wednesday.

A rider sent NY1 video from the 96th Street station on the Upper West Side.

Others tweeted and said they were trapped inside the train for "several minutes" without any information.

They say once the doors opened, people rushed out and that one person was trampled.

Investigators say the smoke condition was caused by cable that touched the third rail around 4:30 p.m.

No one was injured.
