NY1 first reported back in December that a City Council staffer had made sexual harassment allegations against Bronx Councilman Andy King. Wednesday, the city council revealed the details of those allegations.

The council's standards and ethics committee released the details of the allegations after meeting for more than an hour behind closed doors to discuss the investigation. The staffer has accused King of paying unwelcome attention to her.

"The committee considered allegations from a council employee that council member King paid unwelcome attention to her," said Staten Island Republican Steven Matteo. "That Councilmember King repeatedly asked the employee to smile more, while shaking her hand and keeping an extended grip on her until she smiled. And then on one occasion after a committee hearing, Councilmember King asked the employee for her personal phone number in connection with the council member inviting her to a winter ball fundraising gala and stating he would like to see her in a beautiful gown at the event."

The committee has decided to continue its investigation into the matter. There is no timeline yet when it might conclude or when more details will be revealed to the public. The committee can recommend King be censured, fined, or expelled.

King did not return NY1's repeated requests for comment.
