During the inauguration ceremony on the steps of City Hall for Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday, two other officials were also sworn in for new terms.

Letitia James took the oath of office for her second term as the city's public advocate.

She touted several accomplishments she's made during her first four years, including successfully passing legislation that bans employers from asking potential future employees about salaries during interviews, expanding health care services at hospitals across the city, and advocating for universal free lunch in public schools.

As she began her second term, James vowed to continued fighting and serving for all New Yorkers.

"We will always lead this city with strength, with opportunity and optimism," James said. "These next four years should be no different. Let's seize this opportunity together, and let us continue to march on to victory."

Also sworn in was Scott Stringer, who starts his second term as city comptroller.

During his remarks, he promised to help tackle the city's growing homelessness crisis, and make the city more affordable.
