A Nigerian-American organization is bringing Africa to the borough.

It was all part of a two day event called the 'African Arts and Cultural festival' in Todt Hill.

The festival featured more than 20 food vendors and local businesses as well as performances including musicians from Ghana and Sierra Leone.

"The times that we are living in now, not too many people feel that they are included in that ,you know, fabric of America," said Olu Ajayi , a co-organizer.

"We are all coming together and we are showing that we all have we want to speak with one voice and support each other," said Oumie Ceesay- Peters, another organizer.

There was also a dance contest. The winner received a 50 inch flat screen television.
