BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are investigating after a woman and her dog were both killed in a shooting in Brooklyn Sunday night.

It happened at a deli on Dekalb Avenue near Franklin Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant just before 10 p.m.

Police say the victim, identified as Jennifer Ynoa, 36, was walking her pit bull when a person opened fire.

It's unknown whether the woman was the intended target.

No arrests have been made.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this story said the person who opened fire was in a car and characterized the incident as a drive-by shooting. Police initially said that was the case, but later said it is unclear whether the incident was a drive-by shooting.
