BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The NYPD is investigating after two people were shot in Brooklyn on Tuesday, one of them fatally.

Police have identified the fatally shot victim as Cahlil Pennington of Canarsie.

They say he was on a Citibike among a group around 12:30 p.m. on Pitkin Avenue between Bradford and Miller Avenues in East New York.

That's when a dispute erupted with another group.

An individual fired a weapon, hitting the boy multiple times in the torso and head.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police were also looking into another shooting nearby in the borough in which a 20-year-old man was struck in the head.

It happened hours later on Livonia Avenue and Bradford Street.
