NEW YORK - The NYPD on Friday released body camera footage of a deadly police-involved shooting back in October.

Police say two officers were on patrol at the Gowanus Houses in Boerum Hill when they saw a man firing a gun and told him to drop it.

They say he refused, and that's when they fired multiple rounds, hitting him several times.

Police say officers recovered the .9 millimeter gun the suspect was carrying.

The NYPD is continuing its investigation into whether officers followed all of the proper guidelines regarding the use of deadly force and says it is releasing the body camera footage now in an effort to be transparent.

Police also released surveillance video that police say shows the man with a gun in his hand.
