War veterans honored fallen heroes in one of the Brooklyn’s oldest parades Monday. The Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade marked its 152nd year.

Hundreds filled the streets to watch as veterans, NYPD officers, members of the FDNY, and local school bands marched to pay tribute to those who served in the armed forces.

Residents say it’s an event that brings the community together, while honoring those who’ve risked their lives for our country.

“Everybody just comes together to celebrate and understand that people who serve they are here to make our life better and everybody’s life better and we need to appreciate that,” said Gabrielle Panduro, a resident of Bay Ridge.

The post parade ceremonies included a 21-gun salute by the Veteran Corps of Artillery.
