A beauty queen from Brooklyn is the new Miss America.
Miss New York, Nia Franklin, took home the crown Sunday in the organization's first pageant since retiring the swimsuit competition.
Along with the title, Franklin also won a $50,000 scholarship.
Competitors from New York have won the pageant four times since 2013.
