Five people have been arrested after police said they found a cache of weapons at an apartment in Brooklyn last month.

Investigators said on Friday that they found 12 guns, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition.

One of the commanding officers called it one of the largest gun seizures he has ever seen.

It happened back in February when, police said, they searched a building on Visitation Place in Red Hook.

Six bullet proof vests and a crossbow were also recovered.

The NYPD said the takedown was part of a an ongoing investigation into drug activity in the area.

All five suspects have been charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
