It may look good enough to eat, but a gingerbread house in Madison Square Park is just for show.

The free exhibit was created to give visitors a taste of the Gingerbread man's story.

It's interactive, with the goal of making visitors feel right at home.

"Tried to up the ante a little bit," said Beth Tomkiw, editor of Taste of Home "This year we've created an experience where you come in and you're actually apart of the gingerbread man story. He comes in and he's decorating the tree and then a candy storm is brewing and you really feel this experience as you're in the house.

The gingerbread house will be open to the public until December 20.
