Police have arrested the man they say stabbed two people, one fatally, on Staten Island on Monday.

Investigators say Dantey Moore allegedly attacked Geetha Howie near her home located at 54 Bement Avenue in West Brighton around 2 p.m.

The 63-year-old was stabbed repeatedly in the face and chest.

Her neighbor Mark Long tried to intervene and was slashed in the arm.

He is expected to recover, but Howie died of her injuries.

Moore has been charged with murder and assault.

Police do not believe he knew the victims.

The investigation is ongoing.
