Update, 3:18 a.m., October 26, 2017: Police say the dog has been returned. There are no arrests in this case, and the investigation is ongoing.


City police are searching for a woman they say nabbed a dog from someone's yard in Queens on Friday morning.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. on 37th Ave. and 97th St. in North Corona.

Officials said the woman went into the front yard, which was fenced in, grabbed the dog, and took off.

Security cameras caught the woman, who is seen above, holding the two-year-old white Shih Tzu as she walked away.
