BRONX, N.Y. - Police are looking for a group of men they say fatally stabbed a teenage boy Wednesday night in the Bronx.

The attack happened on East 193rd Street and Decatur Avenue in Fordham.

When police arrived, they discovered 17-year-old Pernell Pompey with multiple stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

"Crime is not the same it was 25 years ago. It's a lot lower but you still have pockets of communities in the Bronx that need a little more attention than others. You know it's sad a young child lost his life," said one area resident.

Police are investigating the motive but do not believe the attack is gang related.

No arrests have been made.
