Family, friends and community members came together Thursday to honor the NYPD detective shot and killed on the job one year ago in the Bronx.

Part of Ryer Avenue outside the 46th Precinct station house in Fordham Heights now bears the name of Miosotis Familia.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner James O'Neill attended the ceremony for the slain detective.

"Miosotis' murder was an act of hate against a group of people who believes society can be better. All her killer could see was a uniform although Miosotis was so much more. She was assassinated solely because of what she represented and for the responsibility she embraced, fighting crime and keeping people safe," O'Neill said.

Back on July 5, 2017, Familia was shot and killed while sitting in her mobile command unit.

The gunman was killed by responding officers.

Familia was a 12-year veteran of the NYPD and mother of three.

A prayer service for Familia was also held at World Changers Church in Grand Concourse.

Hundreds of people also gathered overnight for a vigil in the detective's honor.
