The Bronx Rox, an organization focused on building pride in the borough, held a community paint day in Mott Haven on Saturday.

As part of their 'Paint the Wall' initiative, the Bronx Rox invited 8 artists to get creative and put together a piece along a section of a fence at 132nd Street and Alexander Avenue.

The owner of the fence helped pick out the art work for the mural and said he wanted it to have a positive vibe.

"When people think of the Bronx they think of, you know, the crime rate and stuff but it's not all about that. So, I feel like, that's what makes this most important. This is showing a different perspective of this borough," said one artist.

Seven of the artists were on hand for Saturday's event an 8th will contribute to the mural sometime in the coming days.
