A street in the Bronx was renamed Friday in honor of an FDNY EMT killed in the line of duty.

A sign at Boston Road and East 169th Street in the Morrisania section is now co-named in honor of Yadira Arroyo.

She was killed last year when a man with a history of mental illness stole her ambulance and ran her over with it.

Mayor Bill de Blasio was on hand along with Arroyo's family and colleagues to honor her memory.

"Yadi was an outstanding person - a natural leader - a natural example to those around her. This whole city was shocked the day we lost her," De Blasio said.

"Today, by placing a plaque in her honor and co-naming a street after her what better place to rejoice when we see her name. She is immortalized right here," said Arroyo's aunt, Alido Acevedo-Hernandez.

In March, more than 100 EMTs and paramedics gathered to mark the one year anniversary of Arroyo's death.
