Families in the Bronx who are struggling to put food on the table now have a new place to turn to for help.

Mosholu Montefiore Community Center cut the ribbon on a brand new food pantry Tuesday.

Twice a week, people in need can visit the center and take home food items of their choice.

No questions are asked. No proof of income , no proof of how many people live in the home is required. Bronx City Councilman Andrew Cohen secured the $10,000 for the pantry. Many who will use the pantry say this will make a big difference.

"I just have to come across the street. It's a help and it’s indoors so you don’t have to get cold, you don't have to wait outside. It is is warm. you get the air conditioner, so you get the best of both worlds, " said one woman who uses the pantry.

MMCC has been working to improve the lives of Bronx families for more than 75 years with a variety of programs for children and seniors .
