Police are investigating a crash in the Bronx that sent a car into a building and injured a pedestrian.

Authorities say they received a call about the accident at around 8:20 a.m. on East Tremont Avenue near Anthony Avenue.

According to investigators, the driver lost control of the car and hit the female pedestrian.

The woman got pinned between the car and the building, which houses a supermarket.

Surveillance cameras in front of the store captured the incident, and video shows the front of the car crash through a fruit stand.

A witness says the car was pulling out of a parking spot when the driver lost control.

He says he was just a few steps away when the car struck the woman and came very close to hitting him before he jumped out of the way.

"Yeah really close. I looked like this, I go backwards when I see the car," he said.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where she is listed in serious condition.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash.
