The heaviest snow is behind us, but travel conditions will stay touch-and-go while clean-up continues.

What You Need To Know

  • A winter storm warning is in place for most of the NYC area

  • Snow gradually tapers off this afternoon

  • Local totals may cross the six-inch mark

A winter storm warning is in place through 9 p.m., although snow will stop falling before then. See how much has fallen here.

Winding Down

Snow started falling in NYC around a little after 8 a.m. and will pretty much wrap up by 4 or 5 p.m.

For the immediate five boroughs and nearby suburbs in New Jersey, Westchester, and Nassau Counties, plan on getting between 3-6 inches of snowfall. Some locally higher amounts are likely.

The evening should be snow-free, although we'll still deal with tricky travel while crews continue to work.

Cold temperatures behind the storm likely keep things slick into Monday morning.
