A low pressure system over the area gave the five boroughs a gray and damp Saturday, and afternoon temperatures struggled to get out of the 70s for the first time this month. Parts of the region saw rain totals in excess of 2 inches, and a new daily rainfall record for August 11th was set in Central Park.

More spotty wet weather is likely on Sunday, but, we could see a few peeks of sun as well. Temperatures are expected to remain slightly below-normal.

Look for the threat of wet weather to remain in place through Tuesday. No all-day rain events are expected, but, we will see a shower or storm from time-to-time. Temperatures will make their way into the low 80s.  Skies will then clear-out for the second half of next week, and we'll warm-up as well. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
