Most customers appear to be happy with the new citywide ferry service.

That's according to a new report by the city's Economic Development Corporation.

Ninety-three percent of ferry riders said they were satisfied with their experience. But keep in mind most ferry riders choose the service over other public transportation options.

The EDC says customers rated ferry service seven points or higher on a ten-point scale.

Nearly 70 percent gave the ferry the highest rating possible.

The report also shows 87 percent of ferry riders live in the city, and that more than half of peak-hour riders use the ferry on a regular basis.

The city has plans to expand the service, with a landing at the Brooklyn Navy Yard expected to open up next fall.

1.4 million riders have used the ferries since the first route to the Rockaways opened in May.

Last year, the MTA conducted a similar survey on the subways.

Seventy-two percent of riders said they were somewhat to very satisfied with the service.

Three in four city bus riders said the same thing.

However, only 1,200 people took part in that survey.
