NEW YORK — Lady Luck was once again on the side of Lady Liberty.

The New York Liberty won the WNBA Draft Lottery for the second year in a row on Friday evening.

The team was 2-20 this past season, the worst record in the league, which gave them the best shot at winning the lottery.

Last year, they took Sabrina Ionescu with the first overall pick, but she suffered a season-ending ankle injury in just the third game of the year.

The team is scheduled to begin playing its home games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in 2021.
