An upcoming art exhibit to be placed at the political conventions aims to get Americans thinking about their futures.

A pair of ice sculptures is in the works to be installed in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention and in Philadelphia during the Democratic National Convention.

The 4,000 pound sculptures will spell out a famous phrase:

''We'll be melting the words 'The American Dream' in Cleveland and Philadelphia to make people think about the erosion of opportunity," artist Marshall Reese said.

"People really grasp ice," artist Nora Ligorano said. "In a period of time, the meaning has diminished and something else is rising, and that is what we intend for people to question."

The artists said they plan to livestream the melting process during both conventions.
