NEW YORK—A man was fatally shot while reserving parking for a Law and Order shoot Tuesday morning, police said.

The shooting happened around 5:15 a.m. when police responded to a call of a person shot in front of 229 North Henry Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, according to authorities.

Police said the victim does not represent Law and Order but works for a private company that was hired to make sure people who did not work for the show did not park in that area.

According to police, Johnny Pizarro, 31, of Queens was sitting inside of a vehicle when he was shot multiple times.

The alleged suspect opened the door of the vehicle the victim was sitting in and fired shots, authorities said.

Police said the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals / Woodhull, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said Pizarro was the intended target and no arrests have been made.

NBC and Universal Television said in a statement that they are “terribly saddened and shocked” to know that one of their crew members was murdered and are working with local law enforcement as they investigate.

“Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time,” the statement said.
