NEW YORK — Where will Andrew Yang be headed to next on the campaign trail?

The press can learn the answer, but only after formally RSVPing.

What You Need To Know

  • Andrew Yang's nightly press advisories formerly include the addresses of his events, but they no longer do

  • Reporters can learn location of his next day's events when they RSVP

  • Change to format comes after anti-Yang hecklers chased him away from his Brooklyn event on Thursday

  • Yang campaign blames Scott Stringer supporters' media stunts

Since he was chased away from a Brooklyn event by tenacious hecklers last week, Yang’s campaign has stopped disclosing his exact whereabouts on his public schedule.

The mayoral candidate’s events have been closed to press entirely or require that reporters reach out to request the location.

“We don’t want to give Scott Stringer’s campaign free air time,” said Yang campaign spokeswoman Alyssa Cass, when asked why they’ve obscured Yang’s planned locations on his public schedules.

Cass was referencing the confrontation Thursday outside the Park Slope YMCA, where a Yang attempt at criticizing Mayor Bill de Blasio was disrupted by hecklers affiliated with left-wing groups including New York Communities for Change and Our City PAC. The political action committee has said it’s anti-Yang and anti-Eric Adams but not pro-Stringer.

But last Thursday wasn’t the first time Yang had been met by protesters, impromptu or organized. In recent months as he campaigned around the city, he’s also faced critics of his defense of the NYPD and Israel.

On Monday, shielding his whereabouts worked in Yang’s favor in the Bronx, where he was met with some fans rather than several hecklers.

“The right man is in the right place: Andrew Yang,” said supporter Calvin Hunt, calling Yang a “good man” and denouncing rival Adams for having “more scandals than we can ever count.”

On Tuesday, Yang was scheduled to campaign again in the Bronx, the precise location available only upon request.
