Senator Charles Schumer calls out the Trump Administration and the Federal Department of Health and Human Services for sitting on $9 billion of federal aid that could be used to help fight the pandemic via testing and tracing.

"We need state and local governments to get money, we need mass transit and the MTA to get money, we need our schools to get money so they can open safely," said Schumer. "We need money to help people stay in their apartments and feed their kids, but we need money for testing and tracing as well. And second surges are already occurring in Europe. We have to avoid it. And one way to avoid it is get this testing and tracing money out now, right now."

Schumer also called out Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican senators for standing in the way of a new pandemic stimulus package.

Schumer says officials here in the city are doing a great job combating the virus but they need help from the federal government, especially with a possible second wave this fall.
